Medora was founded in 1883 by the Marquis de Mores. Later that same year, Theodore Roosevelt arrived for the first time, drawn in by the spirit of the West and a place that would help shape his lifelong conservation ethic.
Today, Hotel 1883 invites families and travelers to do the same – to get away, spend time together, and reconnect with nature and the spirit of the west, just like Teddy Roosevelt.
