De Mores Park

The best spot in Medora to sprawl out with a good book!

Located in downtown Medora, the park has a bronze statue of the Marquis de Mores — the founder of Medora — and is dotted with trees and park benches.

The statue, donated in 1926 by the Marquis’ sons — is surrounded by a flagstone courtyard, which was the result of a 1938 WPA project — a project you can learn more about at the Chateau de Mores Interpretive Center!

Looking for some good book recommendations? We suggest the works of local author, Rolf Sletten or the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt written by Edmund Morris.
