Bully Pulpit named the #1 Best Public Golf Course by USA Today’s 10Best!
Bully Pulpit has been named the #1 Public Golf Course in the United States by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The winners, according to the USA Today 10Best website, “are impeccably maintained, set amongst gorgeous scenery, and most importantly, are well-designed with challenging layouts and unique features that make for a rewarding round. These 20 courses — nominated by an expert panel as the best public golf courses in the nation — fit that bill and beyond, with many even having hosted prestigious golf tournaments.”
Voting for the Best Public Golf Course began in early March and ended on March 24, 2025. There were 20 Public Golf Courses nominated, all going head-to-head in the polls vying for the number one spot. At that spot, we went to our very own Bully Pulpit Golf Course.
Bully Pulpit opened in 2005 and was quickly recognized as one of Golf Digest’s America’s Best New Courses. It continued to earn accolades from Golf Digest in 2007/2008 and 2013/2014, as well as from Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play in 2012. This latest award follows a multi-year effort to reconstruct and enhance the course’s greens, cart paths, and key features—further elevating the Bully Pulpit experience.
The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation was honored to accept this award. Jesse Ward, PGA Head Golf Professional at Bully Pulpit, had this to say about receiving the award:
