OUTDOOR ADVENTURE

The outlandish landscapes of western North Dakota are about 65 million years in the making. Today, this epic outdoor playground is a must-visit for hikers, bikers, horseback riders, and anyone with a love for fresh air and new horizons.

THEODORE ROOSEVELT NATIONAL PARK

ESCAPE, EXPLORE & EXPERIENCE THE BADLANDS
When Theodore Roosevelt came to Dakota Territory to hunt bison in 1883, he was a skinny, young, spectacled dude from New York. He could not have imagined how his adventure in this remote and unfamiliar place would forever alter the course of the nation.

BULLY PULPIT GOLF COURSE

BREATHTAKING BADLANDS GOLF
Bully Pulpit is chiseled right out of the North Dakota Badlands in a site unlike any in the world. A round here is one you won’t soon forget.

THE MAAH DAAH HEY TRAIL

144 MILES OF BADLANDS

This 144-mile trail traverses the Badlands, Little Missouri National Grasslands, private land, and the North and South Units of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

“The Bad Lands grade all the way from those that are almost rolling in character to those that are so fantastically broken in form and so bizarre in color as to seem hardly properly to belong to this earth.”

-Theodore Roosevelt

The park is comprised of three separate areas of land. The North and South Units feature scenic drives, wildlife viewing, hiking, visitors’ centers, ranger-led programs and much more. The undeveloped Elkhorn Ranch Unit preserves the site of Roosevelt’s ‘home ranch’ in a remote area along the Little Missouri River.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park is the only U.S. national park named after a person.
