This 150-mile trail traverses the Badlands, Little Missouri National Grasslands, private land, and the North and South Units of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It draws people from all over the world to hike, bike, and horseback ride in the Badlands.

From the North, the trail begins at CCC Campground in McKenzie County, located 15 miles south of Watford City off Highway 85, and meanders south to Medora, and onward to Burning Coal Vein campground.

Remember, for your protection, exercise caution while using the trail for any outdoor activities you may have planned. Prepare for climate extremes, steep and slippery terrain, and unpredictable wildlife.
