  • Inclement Weather: The Medora Musical is performed live and outside. That means we experience North Dakota’s weather – from stunning sunsets to sudden showers. Every attempt is made to present each performance.
  • Ticket Resellers: There are ticket resellers and secondary markets for tickets. To eliminate the risk of fraud, get tickets through our official ticketing locations at medora.com or physical ticketing locations in Medora.
  • Tickets may not be resold for any amount higher than the face value printed on the ticket. Any person caught scalping tickets will have their ticket voided and charged a 50% restocking fee to place the ticket back into inventory. Scalpers will be banned from future ticket purchases at Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation’s venues.
  • Seat Map: The Burning Hills Amphitheatre has more than 2,800 seats, that means a lot of options! View a detailed seat map here to identify sections, levels, and ADA seating.
  • Lost and Found: Items lost at the Burning Hills Amphitheatre are collected by front-of-house staff and stored at the TRMF business offices. Please notify front of house staff or call 1-800-MEDORA-1.

Emma Lucia Murphy is so excited to be spending her first summer in Medora, North Dakota. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Emma received her BA in Theatre Arts with a Performance Concentration at Bradley University before moving to New York City. Joe Wiegand portrays Theodore Roosevelt in Medora, North Dakota and in the cast of the Medora Musical

Joe Wiegand

Teddy Roosevelt | Medora, ND
Joe Wiegand is a political science graduate of The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Joe launched his own business as a political campaign consultant and public policy expert and was working in public policy and running election campaigns when he began performing as Theodore Roosevelt in 2002.

 

In 2008, Joe, his wife, Jenny, daughter, Sam, and golden retriever, Faith, traveled across America in celebration of Theodore Roosevelt’s 150th birthday and the final centennial year of TR’s historic presidency. Performances at the White House and TR’s New York City birthplace highlighted the fifty-state adventure. Joe has been featured as President Roosevelt in “The Men Who Built America” on the History Channel, served as the model for the newest TR sculpture at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, and has a feature role in “National Parks Adventure” a film about our national parks still showing in IMAX theaters throughout the country.

Kaitlyn Carnes

Dancer | Kennesaw, GA
Kaitlyn Carnes is thrilled to get the opportunity to perform as a dancer this summer in the Medora Musical! Kaitlyn is originally from Kennesaw, Georgia her dance journey began at the age of three, and she has been dancing ever since. Kaitlyn is also a classically certified Pilates instructor and loves to help others cultivate a stronger mind-body connection through Pilates training. She is currently working towards receiving her bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Kennesaw State University and is expected to graduate this fall.

Karter is so thrilled to be joining the cast of the Medora Musical this year. He is a New York City-based actor/singer who was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. From Nashua, New Hampshire, Jacob grew up performing all around New Hampshire and decided to extend his education in Dance at Dean College. Jacob’s other credits include Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Carnival Cruise, Tokyo Japan’s Broadway Christmas Wonderland, Show Boat (Ft. Ensemble), Reefer Madness (Jimmy Harper), and Cedar Point. Blair Edwards

Singer/Dancer | Baltimore, MD
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Blair Edwards started singing in local churches and was later enrolled in dance class before he was 10 years old. After graduating from Baltimore School for the Arts for dance, he attended UARTS before starting his professional career as an artist and performer. He‘s trained with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Dance Theater of Harlem, Debbie Allen, and more. He looks forward to “The MEDORA Musical” as a new and exciting experience for Summer 2024!

Felicity Jemo

Felicity is so thrilled to spend her summer in beautiful Medora! Before moving to New York City, Felicity lived in Dayton, Ohio, and received her BFA in musical theatre from Kent State University in 2021. She’s been dancing for over 21 years, has sung in choirs, jazz groups, and cabarets, and also enjoys playing the piano and guitar! Some of Felicity’s favorite credits include Rock of Ages, Chicago, Shrek the Musical, and Anything Goes!

Singer/Dancer | Fairfield, CT
Colleen McCurley is originally from Fairfield, Connecticut, and moved to NYC to study Musical Theater at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Her favorite credits include Annie (Dance Captain) at Westport Country Playhouse and Voyeur: the Windows of Toulouse Lautrec (Swing) with Bated Breath Theater. In addition to performing she is a fitness instructor and loves motivating a class through a challenging workout. She is thrilled to be spending her summer in Medora performing in this historic show!

Dillon is ecstatic to be a part of this wonderful production here at Medora Musical! Performing is something that has brought him so much joy and brought him to many places, but is from Rochester, New York! Baylee Payne is a southern girl at heart originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Baylee is a recent graduate from Long Island University where she earned her B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Her most recent credits include; Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Lauren in Kinky Boots, and Take em’ Down Tally at Silverwood Theme Park. Baylee is thrilled to be here with the Medora Musical – after all, what a fabulous way “to make a livin’!”

Edwin Rodriguez

Dancer | Waterbury, CT
Edwin Rodriguez is a New York City-based performer, dancer, and choreographer. Edwin graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) and has trained under the mentorship of Earl Mosley Diversity of Dance Inc. (EMDOD). He has danced in various projects and with various companies nationally and internationally, such as JChen Project, Broadway Theater/Dublin Worldwide Productions, Dumbo Dance Festival, Dance Against Cancer, Diversity of Dance Inc, and with Royal Caribbean Productions cruising around the world. When he is not dancing Edwin is giving back and teaching and choreographing with community/youth programs throughout New York City and the surrounding states. IG @edwin.eddy.rodriguez

Trent is thrilled to be singing in Medora! Born and raised in Jenks, Oklahoma, Trent studied Vocal Music Education at Oklahoma State University. A native of West Palm Beach, Florida, Rian is a versatile dancer specializing in jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, and commercial styles. Some of her credits include work with DanceKerr&Dancers, guest performing with The Painted Ladies, and dancing aboard the MSC World Europa. Rian graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University.

Evan Raines

Fiddle | Philadelphia, PA

Evan Raines is an actor and multi-instrumentalist based in Philadelphia, PA. He has been fiddling since he was a lad, starting out with Suzuki and later learning fiddle tunes at the Commodore Barry Irish Center in Chestnut Hill. North Skager

Drums | Mandan, ND

North Skager, grew up in Mandan, ND, and studied percussion at Mandan High School and the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. His band, Sweater People, recently released their first full-length album entitled CODA Talk. In addition, he has shared the stage with such renowned artists as Grace Kelly, Diane Schuur, Sherrie Maricle, and Wayne Bergeron, among others. North currently resides in Saint Paul, MN, and gigs regularly in the Twin Cities and Chippewa Valley areas.

Sara Smith has performed nationally and internationally on electric and upright bass, and cello for nearly a decade. With over a dozen musicals under her belt, primarily in the Columbus, OH area, she’s excited to learn this show and bring it to life. Oliver Townsend is a Chicago native. Major productions include: Wicked, the National Tour of The Little Mermaid, Grease, and the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Gold unit. Previously Cast Supervisor for Carnival Cruise Lines. Recently the Resident Music Director at Timber Lake Playhouse and pianist at Florida Studio Theatre. He has played for artists including Lorna Luft, Il Divo, and The Foundations. Also Rent, Jersey Boys, The Color Purple, Legally Blonde, Disaster!, Cabaret, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He has worked directly with composers on their shows, including Stephen Schwartz, Alan Menken, Leslie Bricusse, Seth Rudetsky, William Finn, and Marvin Hamlisch. B.S. in Arts Administration from Butler University.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND BEHIND THE SHOW

  • For being 1,753 miles off Broadway, the Burning Hills Amphitheater is one iconic venue. It was carved into the hillside – known as Burning Gulch – by local volunteers in 1958.
  • “Teddy Roosevelt Rides Again” was the title of the show when it opened in 1965. It eventually evolved into the Medora Musical.
  • Prior to a 1992 remodel, the audience sat on wooden benches and often arrived hours before the showtime to get their preferred seat.
  • Over one hundred costumes are designed and constructed for the show each year.
  • More than 4 million folks have seen the Medora Musical. Talk about making history.
