Welcome to Plan Your Trip!
Here's everything you need to start planning your wild-west adventure in Medora.
Fall and Winter in the Badlands
If you're coming out this Fall, here's a page dedicated to all the special events and goings-on! Coming out in the Winter or for Cowboy Christmas? Then THIS is the page to help plan that trip.
Medora is Basecamp to Theodore Roosevelt National Park
THE basecamp for your TRNP adventure, Medora is your place for lodging, provisions and entertainment around the Park bearing the name of the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. Colonel Roosevelt said that he would "never have been President if not for his time in North Dakota," and, later, that if he could keep but one memory in life, it would be of his time ranching along the little Missouri River in the Badlands of North Dakota.
Directions - where is this amazing little place?
Historic Medora is located right off of Interstate 94, west of Dickinson and Belfield, North Dakota, smack dab in the middle of the rugged and beautiful North Dakota Badlands. It's the gateway to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, home to the Medora Musical, and so much history, entertainment, and old-west culture you'll leave with a set of spurs all your own.
When traveling from the East, you'll first see the amazing opening of the Badlands at Painted Canyon -- a must stop location for an amazing photo to remember your trip by.
BUT, you also have to pull in to Medora at the very next exit, I-94 Exit(s) 27 and 24.
Take the exit and feel yourself step into a place where the old west is still just around the corner, where Broadway-level entertainment comes to unique stages you could barely imagine, to see the land where Buffalo still roam, or to tee it up at one of "America's Top 100 Public Golf Courses," at Bully Pulpit Golf Course.
Whatever you end up loving the most, make sure you get off the highway and experience it for yourself.
