The Medora Music Camp provides a diverse offering of four days of classical music training, performance building, master classes, and concerts. Guest artists and prominent college faculty will perform and provide invaluable instruction to participating students in the heart of Medora!
Students should submit two solo pieces of contrasting style from appropriate literature that showcases the student’s best playing ability.

An astounding international cellist, Simona Barbu began her musical studies at age seven and gained public attention as a member of the leading string quartet of the Conservatory of Timisoara in her native Romania, where she made her solo debut in Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme with the conservatory’s symphonic orchestra. Ever since, she has traveled to Asia, South American, Europe, and the United States as a soloist, chamber musician, clinician, and orchestra musician.

International concert artist Nariaki Sugiura has performed solo recitals and concerto engagements in the U.S., Europe, South America, and Asia at prestigious concert halls. His arrangements for chamber ensembles and piano ensembles have been frequently performed.
A devoted teacher, Sugiura has become of the leading piano pedagogues of his generation giving piano master classes around the world.
Brazilian violinist Vinicius Sant’Ana began his musical studies at age 12 at Grupo Pão de Açúcar Music Institute in Brazil. Named concertmaster of the Pão de Açúcar Orchestra at the early age of 16, Sant’Ana has concertized in major concert venues across four continents, including Carnegie Hall in 2014.
A dedicated and passionate educator, Sant’Ana not only maintains a private teaching studio but also works with several teaching programs in Madison, WI, such as Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra and Farley’s House of Pianos Chamber Program. More recently, Vinicius became the Conductor of the Suzuki String Orchestra of Madison.
Vinicius is the winner of the Sao Paulo Young Artist Competition, Grand Forks Symphony Concerto Competition, and the Bismarck Symphony Concerto Competition, among others.
Dong Yi teaching at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in China, and simultaneously studying the program of PhD of Music Education. She was studied in the Royal Academy of Music for the master degree. Before that she followed Professor Su Zhen in the Central Conservatory of Music for the Bachelor degree. Dong Yi was viola principal of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra; viola Principal of the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and viola Principal of the King’s College Chamber Orchestra.
In 2012, Dong Yi was invited to perform at the Musikverein in Vienna for the New Year concert and toured Europe for several months. In the same year, she was sponsored by the French Music Foundation with a full scholarship, and held a concert in the Spring Festival and won unanimous praise. In 2013, she performed with the famous conductor alery Gergiev in Russia as principal viola, which was a great success. In 2017, she was invited to record television program – music classes on CCTV 5. In 2018, she was invited to be viola instructor at the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). 2021 was invited to serve as the judge of the 5th String Music Competition in China, and was also invited to participate in the Chimelong International Ceremony in Zhuhai in the same year and was honored to serve as Ocean Ambassador.
