Dale Given as Buffalo Dale
is excited to be returning for his fourth season as "Host" of "The Medora Musical". This past year also saw Dale hit the stage in the musical "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", with performances in both Florida and Arizona. Over the years Dale has performed across the country in such shows as "Peter Pan", "Man of LaMancha", and the hilarious winter tale "Guys on Ice, The Ice Fishing Musical".
Job Christenson as The City Slicker
Job is thrilled to be returning to Medora for his second summer. He has performed in "Cats" on Broadway, "Ragtime" on tour, and with numerous regional theatres all over the country. He performs all over the country doing concerts, conventions, cabarets and church performances. Job most recently performed for President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at the White House last fall with his accompanist Joel Gilbertson. Job resides in Grand Forks, ND, and free lances with numerous arts organizations and schools. Job has worked with Fire Hall Theatre, North Dakota Ballet, SPA, Northern Plains Ballet, Frost Fire Theatre, and Sleepy Hollow Summer Theatre. James France as Teddy Roosevelt
James France spent most of his life in the hospitality industry, specifically hotels and resorts, working in major properties in the United States, Canada, Norway, England, Switzerland, Germany and France. His most recent theatrical roles include Scrooge in the Alan Menken/Lynn Ahrens operetta version of “A Christmas Carol,” Uncle Willie in “The Philadelphia Story”, Fagin in “Oliver!”, two seasons as Scrooge in the Paul Pierce musical version of “A Christmas Carol,” Senex in “A Funny Thing happened on the way to the Forum”, the “aged” Shakespearean Actor Henry Albertson in “The Fantasticks”, Jake in Neil Simon’s “Jake’s Women” and the Professor in David Auburn’s “Proof” He just completed his fourth season narrating the Outdoor Life Network’s (OLN) “Dangerous Game” and has completed eight movies.
Alicia Reynolds, Burning Hills Singer
As a new cast member, Alicia is thrilled to be part of The Medora Musical in its 2009 season. A native of Palm Beach, FL, Alicia received a BFA in Music Theatre from Elon University. Since graduating, she has been a performer at Dollywood, and most recently had been traveling around the world as a lead singer for Regent Cruise Lines.
Joey Ford, Burning Hills Singer
Joey, originally from Custer, SD, is pleased to be back for his second year as a Burning Hills Singer. He got his Associates of Arts Degree in Musical Theatre at Casper Community College in Casper, WY and traveled to Mankato, MN to receive his Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre. He has worked at the Black Hills Playhouse in 2005-2006 and acted for Highland Summer Theatre in 2007. Joey worked for The National Theatre for Children last fall teaching elementary school students about Green Energy in Missouri, and performed in the play 9x9x9 at The Bryant Lake Bowl this spring.
Lexie Wollan, Burning Hills Singer
Lexie is returning for her sixth year as a Burning Hills Singer. This past year, Lexie appeared in the Johnny Cash tribute musical, "Ring of Fire" at Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse. She has appeared alongside her brother, Chet, playing his sister “Sara” in the Dollywood Holiday production of "Twas the Night Before Christmas", and was the company manager for the first national tour of the new musical comedy, "Church Basement Ladies". For two seasons she was seen as “Giggling Sis” on the national tour of "A Christmas Carol", and was it’s assistant choreographer and dance captain.
Chet Wollan, Burning Hills Singer
Chet is returning for his fifth summer here in Medora. Originally from Minnesota, he has spent the last year in Tennessee, working at Dolly Parton’s theme park, Dollywood. While there he was in such shows as the award winning “Dreamland Drive –In” and “Twas The Night Before Christmas”. Prior to that, he has been seen right here in Medora and has also performed on two national tours of “A Christmas Carol”.
Brittany Everitt, Burning Hills Singer
Brittany is originally from Shorewood, MN and joining the cast for her 3rd season. She graduated this May from the University of Miami with a BFA in Musical Theater. Her recent credits include ‘Mrs. Bennet’ and ‘Lady Catherine de Bourg’ in “Pride and Prejudice the Musical” as well as “The Way of All Fish”, “The Interview”, “Sunday in the Park with George” and “Mad Forest.”
Ken Quiricone, Burning Hills Singer
is joining the cast of the Medora Musical for the first time. Originally from Stratford CT, he studied Acting and Communications at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Ken recently toured the country with Chamber Theatre of Boston. Prior to that he spent time at The Cumberland County Playhouse, the Armory Dinner Theatre, and at Dollywood in the Christmas Extravaganza “Babes in Toyland”. Credits include; “Death of a Salesman”, “The Mikado”, “Guys and Dolls”, “Grease”, and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”.
Natalie Carroll, Burning Hills Singer
Natalie is thrilled to be in the Medora Musical for the first time. She's from Jordan, MN and currently lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Andy. She's happy to join him onstage after watching him from the audience for the past four summers.
Justin Droegemueller, Burning Hills Singer
Justin is spending his 3rd summer with the Medora Musical in the Badlands of North Dakota. Prior to this, Justin spent three summers in the Black Hills of SD. Last year, Justin toured the East Coast with Troupe America, performed the music of Johnny Cash in Illinois and played bass for a Hank William’s show in Texas.
Candice Lively, Burning Hills Singer
Candice is originally from Strawberry Plains, TN. She has been seen in Black Bear Jamboree and Dollywood shows. Most recently, she was featured as a production singer aboard the Norwegian Gem.
Johnny Estling, Burning Hills Singer
Johnny is very excited to join the cast of the Medora Musical for the first time. Most recently seen in "A Christmas Carol" tour, Johnny has also toured with "Babes and Toyland", "Fantasticks", "Cinderella", and "Pinocchio". Other Credits include "She Loves Me", "Clue: The Musical", and "The Night Karokee Died".
Jessica Kaufman, Burning Hills Singer
Jessica is originally from Connecticut, holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Miami and now resides in NYC. Regional credits include Home Sweet Home for Christmas at HersheyPark, The Lost Colony, Cinderella, Into the Woods, and Shakespeare in Love (Henry V). Other credits include "A New Brain", "365 Days/365 Plays", "Les Miserables" and "Guys and Dolls".
DJ Phillips, Guitarist, The Coal Diggers
DJ is returning for his ninth year in the Medora Musical. In his near-decade of rootin’ tootin’ pickin’ and a-grinnin’ in the Burning Hills, DJ has had the unparalleled opportunity to strum on the heartstrings of many a fine folk. Each year he relishes the chance to once again experience the celebration of our nation’s history all over again. D.J.’s other credits include Honky Tonk Angels, Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, and Menopause the Musical. He now resides in Nashville, Tennessee with his hopes and dreams. DJ was lucky enough to know Gentleman Wade Westin and he will miss the guy very much.
Mark Baczynski, Fiddle / Mandolin, The Coal Diggers
Mark is very happy to be returning to The Medora Musical for his fifth season. Since leaving Medora last fall mark has performed in "Hank And My Honky Tonk Heroes" (a Hank Williams tribute) throughout the country as well as being featured in "A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline" in Jacksonville FL. Mark is most proud of a new CD he recorded this year Medora Meltdown, and it is available at the Medora gift shops as well as on his web site. markthefiddlist.com
Marcus Bohn, Drums, The Coal Diggers
Marcus is a graduate of Music Tech (now called McNally Smith College of Music) , Marcus has been a professional drummer in Minneapolis/St. Paul for 20 years. Marcus is returning for his third season with the Medora Musical.
Roger Rettig, , Pedal Steel Guitar, The Coal Diggers
Roger began studying guitar in 1957 in his native London, England. He worked for a variety of ‘name’ UK stars then soon graduated to studio work He took up pedal steel guitar in the 1970s and recorded with artists as diverse as Duane Eddy, George Harrison, Tom Jones and Elmer Bernstein. Roger worked in a number of West End theatre shows in the 80's; ‘The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas’, ‘Pump Boys & Dinettes’, as well as ‘Patsy Cline: A Musical Tribute’ for which he was Musical Director. He also worked with numerous US country artists, such as George Hamilton IV, David Allan Coe, Sonny Curtis, Slim Whitman, and many more. His proudest moments have been playing with steel guitar maestro Buddy Emmons as well as his boyhood hero, Lonnie Donegan. A call to play steel and guitar on a European tour of the American production ‘Elvis: The Legend’ led to an opportunity to move permanently to the USA in 1997. He continues to enjoy a busy schedule of theatrical productions, and has now played in every State in the Lower-48.
Andy Carroll, Bass, The Coal Diggers
This is Andy's 5th season in the Medora Musical cast. He has been a musician in such shows as "Hank and My Honky Tonk Heroes","A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline","Always Patsy Cline", "Honky Tonk Angles", "The Lovely Lebowitz Sisters" and "Menopause the Musical".
Chad Willow, Keyboard, The Coal Diggers
Chad dons a cowboy hat and embraces the wild west once again, to appear on the bandstand for the Medora Musical. In the midst of his many return visits to the Burning Hills Amphitheater, Chad has worked as a musical director, conductor, and musical supervisor on national and international productions, including "State Fair" , "Menopause the Musical", "Don Giovanni", "Babes In Toyland", "Guys on Ice", and "Christmas Carol", "Scarlet Pimpernel", "Le Cirque Rouge".
