Artist in Residence - Cathryn Sugg

July 18 - July 30, 2017

Calling all art enthusiasts!

If you're a lover of the arts, no trip to Medora will be complete until you have made a stop by the Von Hoffman House to visit with, and view the work of, Medora's very own Artist in Residence.

Medora's Artists in Residence only reside in our town for a little while, but while they are here, they make a big impact on the art community as they make strides in their own work and in inspiring the aspiring artists that go through Medora.

Medora's current Artist in Residence is Cathryn Sugg.

Cathryn Sugg

Cathryn Reitler (formerly Sugg) is a fine artist and arts education specialist residing in Glasgow, Montana, originally from Saskatchewan, Canada.

She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006, and her Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Montana in 2011. Her work has been exhibited in Seattle, WA; Troy, NY; Las Vegas, NV; and in many other locations across the country.

In her studio she maintains a lively practice; working in multiple genres but through all of them exploring rural Eastern Montana culture. Often her artworks incorporate non-traditional materials and surfaces including antique textiles, rusted found objects, and historic documents.

She is widely known for producing client-specific commissioned artworks, and maintains a full-time career as an artist after having successfully met client demands over the last decade.

When not at her easel, Cathryn can often be found exploring the countryside and ranches surrounding Glasgow, often with pencils or a piece of fabric embroidery in hand.

July 18 - 30, Cathryn will be at the Von Hoffman House from 12 -5pm visiting with guests and working on her art.

Stop by, say hi, and get a sneak peek of her work!

Plus, on July 29, head over to the Von Hoffman House to see Cathryn's very own Art Exposition.

There is no better way to spend an evening than by sipping wine and browsing an art gallery at the historic Von Hoffman House.

Cathryn will be presenting and selling her work at this time.
