The Marquise de Mores built the Chateau in the 1880s. He then went on to name the little cattle town his Chateau overlooked, "Medora" after his wife Medora Vallombrosa, the Marquise de Mores.

The home features original furnishing and the building has been restored to how it would have been in 1885 -- poised to send out an aristocratic hunting party. Learn about the life of the Marquis and Marquise during their time in Medora on the Chateau tour.

You can also visit the Chateau de Mores Interpretive Center and explore numerous interpretive exhibits about the Marquis' other enterprises, like his pioneering approach to running a beef packing plant, his stagecoach line, refrigerated railway cars, cattle and sheep raising, and land ownership.
